Terms of Service
Effective September 17, 2026
By using LessonCues (the “Service”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What the Service does
The Service lets you mark a start and end time on a public YouTube video and share a link that plays that segment via YouTube’s official embedded player. We do not host, download, or distribute video or audio — we store only the video reference and your chosen timestamps.
YouTube
The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. All video content remains the property of its respective owners and is served by YouTube subject to YouTube’s terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to infringe others’ rights, to create clips that violate YouTube’s terms, or to abuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service. You are responsible for the clips and titles you create.
Usernames and link names
Usernames and the names you give clips and lessons are public. Don’t choose one that impersonates a person, brand or organization (including YouTube, Google or LessonCues), suggests you speak for someone you don’t, infringes a trademark, or is offensive. Some names are reserved. We may change, remove or reclaim a username or link name that breaks these terms or that a rights holder has a valid claim to. A username you give up is held for 180 days and then may be taken by someone else, so don’t rely on readable links under an old username after that; the short links never change.
Availability and “as is”
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from its use.
Content removal
We may remove clips, lessons, comments, usernames or link names that violate these terms or applicable law. To report something, use the “Report” button on the clip, lesson or comment, or contact us. You get a reference number straight away. We aim to resolve reports about sexual content, privacy, impersonation or child safety within 24 hours, reports of other content that breaks these terms or the law within 72 hours, and anything else within 15 days.
Our name
LessonCues was previously called “YouTube Clips”. We renamed it because YouTube’s branding rules don’t allow its name to be used in the names of other products. LessonCues is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
