How it works
How to loop a section of a YouTube video
- 1
Paste the video link
Copy the YouTube link from the address bar or the Share button and paste it into the box above.
- 2
Mark the section
Drag the start and end handles, or press I and O while the video plays. Use the zoomed timeline and 0.1-second nudges to line it up exactly.
- 3
Turn on Loop and play
Loop is on by default. Press Preview to hear it repeat, change the speed if you like, then save to get a link that opens straight into the loop.
Why loop a section instead of dragging the progress bar back
Dragging back by hand lands somewhere different every time, and you lose a few seconds on every repeat. A loop starts at the same point on every pass, so all your attention goes to the part you’re learning: a guitar lick, a dance count, a tricky sentence, a proof on a whiteboard.
Because the loop is saved as a link, you can open it again tomorrow, or on your phone, without finding the moment again.
More than a plain repeat
- Speed from 0.25× to 2×, in 0.05 steps.
- Repeat a set number of times, or forever.
- A pause between repeats, to play or say it back.
- A lead-in that starts a few seconds early so you can count yourself in.
- A speed trainer that starts slow and gets a little faster on each loop.
Share the loop
Saving gives you a short link like lessoncues.com/c/abc123. Whoever opens it gets the same section on loop with your speed and settings, and can change them for themselves without changing yours. Clips made without an account are deleted after 30 days; sign in with Google to keep them.
Questions
Can I loop just part of a YouTube video?
Yes. Paste the link on LessonCues, set a start and end time, and keep Loop on. Only that section repeats.
Does the loop work on phones?
Yes. Loops play in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. Some phones need one tap on the video before it starts playing.
Can I loop a section and slow it down at the same time?
Yes. Set the speed anywhere from 0.25× to 2× and the loop keeps that speed. The speed trainer can also raise it a step on each repeat.
Is anything downloaded?
No. The loop plays in YouTube’s official embedded player. We only save the video ID and your times and settings.
